WELCOME TO THE 3RD EDITION OF THE BELIFTED NEWSLETTER!

As we approach the end of the year, we want to share some of the highlights from the last quarter and year, celebrating the incredible achievements of our community and the impact of your support. The BeLifted Fun Run – Running for Change This year, our BeLifted Fun Run was a huge success! Together, we raised over £400 for four fantastic charities: Young Barnet Foundation, Youth Realities, BeLifted, and Maggie’s Place. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, cheered us on, and helped make this event possible — and to our amazing sponsors Marlborough, Drip, Tenzing, and Keir. Your support makes all the difference, and it’s inspiring to see our community come together to make a real impact.   SPOTLIGHT: WOMEN’S RUNNING GROUP MARTA’S STORY Our women’s running group meets twice a week and is led by our brilliant coach, Linda. This group is for all abilities, and over time, it has grown into a close-knit, supportive family. One of our inspiring runners, Marta, has an incredible story: she ran while pregnant, right up until her due date! Her dedication shows that running can be for everyone — and if that doesn’t inspire you to lace up your trainers, we don’t know what will! The Journey: Marta’s Story Running Background: Marta got into running when her gym closed. She joined a Parkrun with friends and has now completed the “100 Parkruns” milestone. Running During Pregnancy: She adapted her routine as needed, swapping running for walking and adding pregnancy-safe strength sessions. Running helped her manage gestational diabetes and maintain fitness, contributing to straightforward labors. Postpartum Return: Running with a pushchair allowed her to continue training while caring for her baby.     Half Marathon: Encouraged by her running group, Marta completed her first half marathon, embracing every mile and feeling a sense of accomplishment. Life & Balance: Marta fits running into her schedule as a protected time, helping her stay physically fit, mentally refreshed, and more patient with her children. Reflections: Marta is proud of completing 100 Parkruns, 38 while pregnant, and hopes to inspire her kids to stay active. She’s training for the Watford Half in February, aiming to beat her PB of 2h14 mins. If you’re inspired to join, email Linda or Jenny — we’d love to welcome you to our running family! Debt and Welfare Surgery – Success Stories Our flagship weekly Debt and Welfare Surgery continues to make a tangible difference in women’s lives. This quarter: We helped one client secure the right to remain in the UK. We accompanied two clients to court to appeal their PIP payments, securing backdated payments of £14,000 and £7,000. Our debt and welfare manager, Fanta, and our dedicated volunteers continue to work tirelessly to give women and their families security, stability, and a voice. Through your support, we are helping women overcome barriers, reclaim their rights, and build a brighter future. Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to another year of empowerment, community, and change!
